James Jones, Jr. was elected to Criminal Court, Division 3 in August 2022 and is serving in that position.

Judge Jones graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor in Science in the field of Political Science.  He received his law degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.

Prior to his election, Judge Jones was a private attorney with his own law firm located in Bartlett for more than a decade. His law practice focused primarily on state and federal criminal defense issues, but also handled a variety of civil litigation matters.

Judge Jones has been married for 20 years and has 3 amazing children.  He has made Memphis his home for the last 20 years and cares about his community.
