Q:  If I am a defendant, how do I find which courtroom my Criminal Court case is in?

A:  Call Criminal Court Clerk's Office Customer Service at 901-222-3376 or 222-3200

Q: What information do I need to provide to the Criminal Court Clerk’s Office to locate my records in the system?

A: You need to provide your full name, date of birth, and social security number.

Q: How do I get a copy of my records, certified copies, or judgment sheets from the Criminal Court Clerk’s Office?

A: You can either email the Records Department at criminalcourt.records@shelbycountytn.gov, or you can come in to the Criminal Court Clerk’s Office to request a copy of your records. The fee for certified copies is $5.00 and record requests copies cost $.50 per printed page.

 

Q: How do I request Public Records?

A: The Public Records Request form is located here.  You can either email the Records Department at criminalcourt.records@shelbycountytn.gov, or you can come in to the Criminal Court Clerk’s Office. 

​Q:  How do I setup a payment plan for my court costs?

A:  Call the Escrow Department at 901-222-3258 or you can come to the Criminal Court Clerk’s Office Escrow Department

 

Q:  If I come in to the Criminal Court Clerk's Office to pay my fees, can I pay with a debit or credit card?

A:  No. The Criminal Court Clerk’s Office only accepts cash or money order payments in person. You may use a debit or credit card to pay your fees online.

 

Q:  How do I pay my court fees online if I owe on my case in Criminal Court Clerk's Office?

A:  Go to the Criminal Court payments website by clicking HERE

EXPUNGEMENT  FAQ'S

 

Q:  Do I have to pay to expunge my record?

A:  No, Clerk Heidi Kuhn waived the $100.00 expungement fee. However, all court costs, fines, and restitution must to be paid in full in order to be expunged.

Q:  What fees do I have to pay to get my record expunged?

A:  All court costs, fines, and restitution must be fully paid in order to be expunged.
 

Q:  How do I determine whether I am eligible for an expungement?

A:  Submit an expungement inquiry on the website by clicking HERE. Or you can come to the Criminal Court Clerk’s Office to speak to an expungement specialist.
