James Johnson
Manager of Information Services

In October 2023, Clerk Heidi Kuhn appointed James Johnson as the Manager of Information Systems for the Criminal Court Clerk’s Office, after having served the previous Clerk from 2016- 2018. 

James graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, joined the US Army in Human Resources Information System Management, then returned to UAH to graduate with a Master of Science Degree in Management of Information Systems.   He has worked in IT for the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedEx Forum.  He returns to Shelby County Government after working for the judicial software conversion team at Tyler Technologies.

James is a devoted husband, loving father of two boys, a brother of Delta Chi Fraternity, a US Army Veteran with multiple overseas tours, and a devout San Diego Padres Fan.
