ORDER APPOINTING PRIVATE ATTORNEY

ORDERS APPOINTING PRIVATE COUNSEL TO REPRESENT DEFENDANTS / PETITIONERS may now be requested, or by email, to be received by email, enabling attorneys to electronically file claims with the State of Tennessee.

PROCEDURES:

Authorization to participate in the program is received by completing a form at the Criminal Court Clerk’s Customer Service Counter registering the attorneys name, email address and phone number.
 

Submit a form or email requests:

  • Email subject line should read:  "Order of Appointment – (Defendant’s Name)"

  • Email request must include:  "Defendant’s Name – Indictment Number – Attorney’s Name"

 

Orders of Appointment will be converted into pdf files and forwarded via email within twenty four (24) working hours of receipt of the request.
 

Emails with incorrect information will be returned to the requesting attorney. The requesting attorney is responsible for resubmitting the email with the correct information.
 

If for any reason the computer system is inoperative, attorneys will request Orders of Appointment in person at the Criminal Court Clerk’s Customer Service Counter.
 

At this time, ORDERS APPOINTING PRIVATE COUNSEL TO REPRESENT DEFENDANTS / PETITIONERS are the only documents included in the program. Notifications will be made as the program is expanded.
