Judge David L. Pool was elected to Criminal Court, Division VI in 2022.

Judge Pool is a fifth-generation Memphian who received his Bachelor of Music degree from Memphis State University, his Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Memphis, and his Doctor of Juris Prudence from the Cecil C. Humphries School of Law at the University of Memphis.

Prior to his law career, Judge Pool served as a high-school music and English teacher in Memphis for seven years, then performed as a professional musician in the United States and Europe for seven years.

Prior to his election to the bench, Judge Pool was a practicing criminal defense attorney, a civil litigation attorney, In House Counsel for Drexel Chemical Company, and from 2016 to 2022 served as a Shelby County Judicial Commissioner.

Judge Pool is a member and Past President of the University of Memphis Law Alumni Association, a member of the Catholic Lawyers Guild, and is a member of the Memphis Bar Association and National Bar Association.

Judge Pool participates in various causes to promote issues of education and justice.
