Mary Smith
Executive Assistant to the Clerk

Mary M. Smith is a lifelong Memphian.  She was employed with Fed Ex for 13 years in Customer Service and Marketing.  She came to work for Shelby County in 2001 for the General Sessions Court Clerk’s Office for Clerk Chris Turner, as his Chief Executive Secretary. From there, she worked for the next three Shelby County Clerks, Debbie Stamson, Wayne Mashburn, and Wanda Halbert, as their Executive Assistant.  Mary went to work for Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris in September 2020 as his Executive Assistant.  In September 2021, Mary joined the Criminal Court Clerk’s team as Clerk Kuhn’s Executive Assistant.

 

Mary loves being a part of the Team Kuhn and cherishes her time with her family: oldest son, Nick and wife, Emily their two children, 8 year-old Ian and 6-month-old Amelia Ann; her middle son, Austin; and her daughter, Natalie and her husband, Jon David and 12-month old Finley
